Blog Beginnings..
Firstly i guess i should start by saying hi and telling you all a bit about myself and why my passion (apart from my kids and hubby) is
photography.
So HI !
I'm Rachel, a wife, mother and photographer
( I have other jobs in my home i don't take credit for eg..cleaner, nurse, referee, taxi driver, chef, chief pot washer to name a few ha ha )
I have been with my husband for 17 years and he has given me 3 gorgeous babies, Chloe aged 14, Alexa aged 11 and Hunter aged 4. ( i say 'given me' loosely' as i did the hard work of growing and birthing them and they are all mini versions of him so i guess i have to credit him with their gorgeousness lol )
As an army family we have moved 11 times in our 17 years together but we now live in Church Crookham which is where i have been lucky enough to have enough space to set up my home studio.
Growing up in the military i learnt from an early age just how important photography was with living abroad and away from immediate family, photos were very important to me so I've always had a love of photography and understand what photographs can mean to a person long after they took it.
It was in 2012 , not long after my youngest was born, my husband went on a 6 month tour. That was when he brought me my first 'big' camera to record our kids grow while he was away. I wanted to not just take photos, but create memories for our family and document them. Even today they are my most treasured photos as they show my family exactly as they were at a very emotional time.
I decided i wanted to be able to give everyone the opportunity to capture those times in your life that will mean the most when you look back. To be able to relive the feeling of your newborns fingers curled around yours, or the emotion you felt as your baby takes his first steps.
To me, photography is like music. Its understood all around the world without needing explanation and will evoke memories or feeling you had long forgot about.
This is why i absolutely love creating photography and look forward to sharing the experience with you.
x
